OUR APPROACH

Confidence is earned in the details.

A claim earns trust when tested.

A security program should withstand scrutiny from the people who depend on it. Piton works from evidence, explains uncertainty plainly, and focuses effort where it changes the outcome.

PRACTITIONER BACKGROUND

Experience behind the advice.

Piton is led by a security practitioner with 25 years in information security across telecommunications, e-commerce, and media.

That background includes building and running security programs, leading incident response, setting security budgets, and assessing security for customer reviews and acquisitions.

You work directly with the practitioner leading the engagement, from defining the scope to explaining the findings and next steps.

01 / SCOPE

Start with a decision.

Every engagement begins by defining the question, the relevant systems, and what a useful answer will enable.

02 / VALIDATE

Check what holds.

Policies and inventories matter, but claims are tested against evidence and the way controls operate in practice.

03 / PRIORITIZE

Make the next move clear.

Findings are tied to business impact, ownership, and realistic remediation so teams know what to do first.

WORKING PRINCIPLES

Direct advice.
No theatre.

Independent advice
Recommendations follow the evidence and the decision you need to make. Uncertainty and scope limits are named.
Written authorization before testing
Testing begins after written authorization defines the systems, permitted activities, and boundaries. Changes to scope are agreed in advance.
Agreed evidence handling
Before work begins, agree on the evidence needed, how it will be shared, who can access it, and how long it will be retained.
Plain reporting
Reports explain what was observed, what remains uncertain, and the practical next actions, with clear priorities and ownership.

Piton provides assessment and advisory work. It does not issue certifications or audit opinions, and incident response is outside the fractional leadership retainer.

YOUR RECORD AND QUESTION COUNTS

Privacy preferences

Page adjustments are on by default unless your browser sends Global Privacy Control. Your saved starting point, answers, reading history, and inferred interests are kept in this tab’s browser session. Closing the tab ends the session; browser session restore may bring it back. Only the off preference is saved persistently. AI guides send the situation and follow-up choices you select to a server-side writer through OpenRouter. On the guide page you can also choose to include your top two topic interests and up to four saved answers. Page history, reading measurements, contact information and scope briefs are never included. With remembering off or Global Privacy Control enabled, guides use only explicit choices. Optional questions also contribute to combined counts, as explained below. Review, remove or clear saved items before sharing a device.

Click the Piton Security logo in the header to return home and clear this tab’s learning queue. Your remembering preference stays the same.

Question counts

Optional questions report totals for displays, answers, dismissals, and scroll-pasts. Piton stores totals by question and answer option, without visitor IDs or individual event histories. These totals are not sent to an AI provider. “Turn this off” and Global Privacy Control stop reports. Clearing this browser cannot undo a contribution already combined into a total.
